KKR Green Program now covers twenty percent of Portfolio
Global Equity outfit KKR have managed to develop their environmental management program to a fifth of its current portfolio which even includes two operations which are based outside of the United States.
KKR first adopted the Green Portfolio Program for four of their companies in order to attempt to minimalise their environmental impacts in terms of paper and chemical use, as well as waste, energy and water. The number of companies following their procedures has now swelled to twenty.
Henry Kravis has been delighted with the number of outfits now following their more green code of ethics, and is particularly excited about the momentum the company is taking forward. He also points out that the need for companies to be taking decisive action on topics related to the environment is now more important than ever, and he indicated that taking this approach can actually end up having a positive effect on the economic growth of their company.
Kravis is obviously one of the founding members of KKR but equally as important in pushing forward the new initiatives is Ken Mehlman, who us the current Managing Director of the firm. KKR hopes to continue their growth in terms of Environmental responsibility and with these two at the helm that is looking increasingly likely.
